Commentary:
France Anne Córdova is an inspiring Hispanic Scientist and educationa administrator. She was born in Paris, graduated from high school in an Los Angeles suburb, worked as a journalist and returned to college to earn an Ph.D. from Cal Tech in Physics. She then became the Chief scientist at NASA before becoming an educational administrator at UC Santa Babara, UC Riverside and finally President of Purdue University.
In the process of accomplishing these feats, she became the mother of two children of her own. But more importantly, she became an influential example to students, especially in terms of providing a culture of service to help those in need of nurturing… GLB
